Mancini: Inter Underestimating Match
Glasgow – Roberto Mancini lamented earned a 3-3 draw at home to Inter Milan FC Celtic despite winning two goals first. He considered his team off guard too easily after a quick lead.
A visit to Celtic Park in the first leg of the Europa League last 32, Friday (20/02/2015) pm dawn, Inter kicked off with two goals within 13 minutes. Is Xherdan Shaqiri and Rodrigo Palacio who open the scoring Nerazzurri.
But Celtic responded by scoring two goals. After Stuart Armstrong made a goal in the 24th minute, Hugo Campagnaro own goal a minute later to make the score 2-2.
Inter had regained the lead after Palacio scored his second goal shortly ahead of the break. But Inter victory is in sight dispersed towards the end of the game after John Guidetti goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo in injury time.
“My feeling is that we start with a very good, but then behaves as if the game was already won,” said Mancini complained about his attitude to Mediaset as quoted by Football Italia.
“We just played the ball without much purpose and let them back into the game. It’s also something to improve on,” said the former Manchester City manager.
A 3-3 draw at home to Celtic to give Inter’s away goal advantage. But Mancini still deplore the failure of Inter bring home the victory.
“However, a 3-3 draw in Glasgow obviously not the result that deserves to be wasted. What we should understand is that if you persist too deep, sooner or later you will concede,” said Mancini.
“Given how this game goes, we are forced to regret it,” he said.
The second leg match will be played in Giuesppe Meazza on 26 February.
